Psalms summary
These 150 songs gather praise, lament, confession, thanksgiving and wisdom into five books. Individual voices and whole congregations remember creation, exodus, kingship and exile. The collection opens with delight in God’s instruction and refuge in His Anointed One; it closes with every breathing creature called to praise. Its movement toward worship neither denies suffering nor treats the cries of the afflicted as failures of faith. David’s royal hope, the righteous sufferer and the lasting priesthood reach their fulfillment in Jesus Christ.
