Privacy Policy.
Last updated October 24, 2026
The short version
- No account, no ads, no tracking. TheoMaps has no sign-in, shows no ads, and has no analytics or tracking in it.
- Your notes are yours. What you make in the app stays on your iPhone and in your own iCloud. We cannot see it.
- Apple handles payment. We never see your card or your Apple Account.
- One email, if you ask for it. Join the launch list and we keep your address to write once, the day TheoMaps reaches the App Store.
Who we are
TheoMaps (“we” and “us”) is a business run by Alfred Reyes in Florida, United States. We make the TheoMaps app for iPhone and run this website, theomaps.com. This policy covers both, and we have tried to write it plainly.
If you have a question about it, or want to use any of the rights below, write to support@theomaps.com.
At a glance
Everything TheoMaps or this website could hold about you, and where it goes.
| What | Where it is kept | Who can see it |
|---|---|---|
| Your place, bookmarks, notes, highlights, Challenges progress and settings | On your iPhone, and in your own private iCloud if iCloud is on | Only you |
| Your purchases | With Apple, through the App Store | Apple. We get Apple’s sales reports, which don’t name you |
| Crash reports, if you choose to share them with developers | With Apple, which passes them on to us | Us, without your name or contact details |
| Your email address, if you join the launch list | With Resend, the service that sends our email | Us |
| Website requests: network address, browser, page and time | With Vercel, which hosts this website, for a short time | Vercel and us, to keep the site running and safe |
In the app
TheoMaps has no accounts. There is nothing to sign up for or sign in to, and the app never asks for your name, email address, location, contacts or photos.
What you make stays yours
Your place in the Bible and on the map, your bookmarks, notes and highlights, your Challenges progress and your settings are kept on your iPhone. If you are signed in to iCloud, TheoMaps also keeps them in your own private iCloud storage, using Apple’s CloudKit, so they are there on your other devices and after you reinstall.
That storage belongs to your Apple Account. We cannot see it or open it, and Apple’s privacy policy covers how Apple keeps it. If you turn iCloud off for TheoMaps, everything stays on your iPhone alone.
What you read and what you write about your faith is personal. None of it is sent to us.
No ads, analytics or tracking
The app shows no ads and has no analytics, advertising or tracking tools from other companies in it. It does not track you across other companies’ apps and websites, so it never asks for permission to.
Reminders
If you turn on the daily Challenges reminder, your iPhone asks whether TheoMaps may show notifications. The reminders are set on your iPhone itself, and nothing about them is sent to us.
Purchases
Apple handles every purchase through the App Store. The app checks with Apple, on your iPhone, which plan you have. We never see your card, your Apple Account or your name. We get the sales reports Apple gives every developer, which count purchases without saying who made them.
Crash reports
If you have chosen to share analytics with app developers in your iPhone’s settings, Apple sends us reports when TheoMaps crashes or runs slowly. They describe the device and what went wrong, not who you are, and we use them only to fix the app. You can turn this off at any time in Settings › Privacy & Security › Analytics & Improvements.
On this website
Visiting
This website uses no cookies, no analytics and no tracking. Its fonts and images come from the site itself, so your visit is not reported to anyone else.
Vercel hosts the site. Like any web host, it records each request, with your network (IP) address, browser, the page and the time, so it can deliver the site and protect it from abuse. Vercel keeps these logs for a short time and then deletes them.
The launch list
If you leave your email address, we keep it, with the date you left it, so we can write to you once, the day TheoMaps reaches the App Store. We use it for nothing else.
The list is kept by Resend, the service that sends our email. We may also get a short email telling us that someone joined. The launch email has a link to take yourself off the list, and you can also ask us to remove you at any time.
Who we share it with
We do not sell your personal information or share it for advertising, and we never will. The only companies that handle any of it do so to provide their service to us:
- Apple, for iCloud, the App Store and crash reports.
- Vercel, which hosts this website.
- Resend, which keeps the launch list and sends our email.
Each of them is bound by its own privacy commitments and by its terms with us. We would disclose information only if the law required it, and if TheoMaps were ever passed to someone else, this policy would go on covering what we already hold.
How long we keep it
- What you make in the app stays until you delete it, or delete TheoMaps and its iCloud data.
- The launch list is kept until the launch email has gone out, and then deleted. If you ask us to remove you sooner, we do it straight away.
- Website logs are kept by Vercel for a short time, and then deleted.
- Emails you send us are kept for as long as we need them to help you, and then deleted.
Keeping it safe
The website is served only over an encrypted connection. Your iCloud data is protected by Apple’s security. We keep what little we hold to as few people and services as we can. No system is perfectly secure, but we will tell you if something we hold about you is ever exposed.
Your choices and rights
- To delete what you made in the app, delete TheoMaps from your iPhone. To delete the copy in iCloud too, open Settings, tap your name, then iCloud, open your iCloud storage, choose TheoMaps and delete its data.
- To stop crash reports, turn off sharing with app developers in Settings › Privacy & Security › Analytics & Improvements.
- To stop reminders, turn them off in TheoMaps or in Settings › Notifications.
- To leave the launch list, use the link in the email, or write to support@theomaps.com.
Wherever you live, you can ask us what we hold about you, ask for a copy, and ask us to correct it or delete it. Write to support@theomaps.com. We will answer within 30 days. We will only ask what we need to find you, which is usually just your email address, and someone you authorize can ask for you. Asking will never change how TheoMaps treats you or what it costs.
If you are not happy with our answer, you can complain to the data protection authority where you live.
In Europe and the UK
If you live in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, TheoMaps is the controller of the personal information described here. We rely on these legal bases:
- to provide the app and the website you asked for (performance of a contract)
- to keep the website safe and fix crashes (our legitimate interest in a working, secure service)
- to keep you on the launch list (your consent, which you can withdraw at any time)
Vercel and Resend may process information in the United States. They do so under the safeguards they provide for transfers, such as the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses.
In the United States
Some US states, including California, give you the right to know what personal information a business collects, to delete it and correct it, and to opt out of its sale or its use for targeted advertising.
In the past 12 months the only personal information we may have collected is an email address, if you joined the launch list, and the network address and browser details in website logs. We collect no sensitive personal information. We do not sell or share personal information, and we do not use it for targeted advertising, so there is nothing to opt out of. We treat a Global Privacy Control signal as a request not to sell or share in any case.
Children
TheoMaps is made for families and churches, and children use it. Because the app collects no personal information from anyone, a child’s notes stay on their iPhone and in their family’s iCloud, as everyone’s do.
We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. The launch list is for adults: if you are under 13, ask a parent to join it for you. If you think a child has given us their email address, write to support@theomaps.com and we will delete it.
Changes and contact
If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top. If a change matters, for example if the app ever begins to collect something new, we will say so in the app or on this page before it takes effect.
Questions, requests and complaints go to support@theomaps.com.
